How happiness is related with individuals' consideration for the welfare of themselves and others? This project investigates prosocial and altruistic behaviors such as blood, stem cell, and organ donation, as well as heroic rescues. Our team examines the neural, psychological, and social characteristics; the learning and behavioral patterns; and the well-being of extraordinary altruists. What factors drive altruistic actions? And how does altruism influence the well-being of altruists?
